Helmut Lang is an Austrian fashion designer who introduced the first men’s collection in 1987. He brought back the narrow and tailored suit with black tie, white shirt and shoes. He used unconventional things like metallic fabrics, feather and rubber. His ways brought a change in the silhouette in the early 1900s and 2000s. He was the first to stream his collections online. In 1999, The Prada Group bought a 51% stake in the company. Later the company developed a range of accessories like belts, shoes and bags. Helmut Lang stores were opened in Hong Kong and Singapore. Helmut Lang retired from fashion in 2005.
