James Perse started his journey in fashion from 1991 when he designed caps for his father’s boutique Maxfield. In 1994, he introduced a t-shirt line which was a mix of casual and luxury. 1996 saw the launch of his namesake label with women’s knitwear collection. The label expanded into two collections which comprised of James Perse Los Angeles ready-to-wear collection that included pants, sweaters, dresses, jackets and more and Standard James Perse which comprised of high-quality basic wear. Two years, later, the label launched men’s collection and gradually a line for children and babies was also introduced. The first retail store was launched in 2003 and in 2007, an online shopping site for the brand was launched.
