Women's Proenza Schouler
Founded in 2002 by designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, this New York based brand specializes in women’s wear and accessories. Their first collection was named Proenza Schouler, which was their senior thesis at Parsons School of Design. Barneys New York had bought the entire collection, which the duo named after their mother’s maiden name. The blend of attention to detail with craftsmanship is the base of the collections of Proenza Schouler. The designers draw their inspiration from youth culture and modern art. The brand emphasizes on the use of custom developed fabrics and tailoring. The first shoe collection was launched in 2008 and was licensed through S.p.A, Giuseppe Zanotti and Vicini. Later in the same year, the first handbag collection was launched. The PS1 Handbag which has now become the most popular handbag was also launched in this collection.
