February features fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. New York Fashion Week 2018 was February 8-16. We were more than inspired by the shows and designers seen on the runways. There were a handful of collections seen at the 2018 New York Fashion Week that will help fashionistas present themselves well in the upcoming seasons and reflect the world we live in. Some of our favorites were Stella McCartney’s rainbow sneakers, Son Jung Wan’s 80’s inspired outfits, Ralph & Russo’s 1920’s spring inspiration, and Ralph Lauren’s nautical style
The first trend we loved to see at New York Fashion Week was from Stella McCartney. Women are expected to look flawless with their street style. Let’s face it. Sometimes heels just can’t give us enough support to get through a long day. That’s why we were obsessed with Stella McCartney’s rainbow sneakers. These sneakers are fashionable, colorful, and most importantly comfortable! Style more than just sneakers with pastel, rainbow or bright colored combinations.
Inspiration from the 80’s certainly got some of the spotlight from Son Jung Wan at New York Fashion Week. Son Jung Wan’s runway was filled with blues, pinks, and yellows, plush furs and accentuated silhouettes. Many of her pieces featured a butterfly pattern, and even sequins and checkered patterns were featured on both male and female pieces. We are so excited for the beautiful clothing and 80’s inspiration this season!
What better way to sail into summer than with Ralph Lauren and a beautiful nautical pattern. During New York Fashion Week, they reimaged all of our tropical fantasies. Ralph Lauren gained inspiration from his house in Montego Bay, Jamaica and has created gorgeous pieces featuring boating motifs and bright whites and blues, with accents of green, yellow, and red. We loved how the show began with a barefoot model wearing a white and blue, strapless sundress. Just watching the show made us feel like we were in paradise.
Finally, we were a huge fan of Ralph and Russo show featuring 1920’s spring inspiration. Designers have not overlooked the fact that the roaring twenties are making a comeback, and filled the runways with fringe to ostrich feathers and tassels. We especially love the flapper inspired fringe dresses from seen at New York Fashion Week. Parading around in one of these dresses will make you feel nothing less than glamorous and exciting. The contrast of colors and weight of the fabric of these outfits make such a beautiful statement
